Overview
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for electrical projects. This role involves collaborating with clients, project managers, and contractors to ensure accurate cost projections, risk management, and competitive bids.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine the scope of work and project requirements.
- Prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other project costs using established procedures and tools, such as Microsoft Excl, Microsoft Word, McCormick/Accubid.
- Work collaboratively with vendors, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and refine project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Participate in bid presentations and negotiate with clients to secure contracts for electrical construction projects.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients by serving as their primary point of contact and building trust through regular communication and follow-up.
- Manage client expectations by setting clear timelines, deliverables, and communication protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and industry standards.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
